INTRODUCTION TO HOME HEALTH

Home Health is a service exclusively for person's and relatives/friends who receive care from Princess Homecare.

Home Health is not a medical service, or an 'alternative health' service, however it is the chance to have a one on one consultation with a health fitness expert who understands the wants and needs of frail and disabled people.

The service is here to help you understand how you are able to improve your quality of life by making just a few simple changes.

We also offer a nutrition breakdown, so if you feel you are suffering from digestive and skin problems, mood swings and tiredness we may be able to improve if not relieve these issues by adjustments to your diet and nutrition.

The thought of 'exercise' may seem like a young person's hobby that is long in your past - however simple exercises every day can not only improve the quality of your joints and muscles but can relieve boredom and give you something to get up for in the morning and aim for!

Home Health offers a free consultation where we will sit with you to discuss your health needs and the benefits you can receive from Home Health, including answers to any questions you may have.

INTRODUCTION TO DIET AWARENESS

Home Health is not a 'fad' diet, it's not a new scheme to get you losing pounds and pounds, its about awareness of food and how it can benefit your body and your life.

Altering your diet, sometimes even slightly, can decrease symptoms of certain problems i.e. Type II Diabetes, skin and nail problems, constipation, diarrhoea, lethargy and tiredness, mood swings and IBS.

You may be thinking that you don't want to change your diet, that you (or the person concerned) is too 'set in their ways' to change their diet. However whether you are looking into this yourself, or for a loved one, altering diets can be as easy as changing from skimmed milk to full fat!

You may also be experiencing problems such as joint and muscle pain, cramping, stiffness and bone problems. Even though some of these problems are medical, having a diet specific to your needs can greatly improve the difficulties you experience, and can sometime reduce the need for medication.

Having a healthy diet cannot only alleviate problems that already exist but can prevent issues from occurring. For example, by increasing the amount of oils you intake the probability of developing joint problems, such as arthritis, are greatly reduced.

INTRODUCTION TO EXERCISE

Many people feel that later in life is not a time to be exercising and pushing your body to the limits. Home Health exercise regimes are not aimed at that, but rather aimed at improving what you have to work with. By starting a regime of body improvement you can find huge improvements in your physical and mental well being.

Home Health will never recommend a mile long run for someone with two hip replacements, neither will we suggest you pick up a set of dumbbells. Rather we will examine your physical needs and capabilities, then suggest light exercises that will not damage you but, rather, improve what you have already.

We already work alongside people with physical and mental disability, the elderly, people new to the health industry and elite athletes. Our range of knowledge and experience is vast and we are able to advise and assist anyone who has the will to improve themselves.

The exercise based services we offer include:

  • set exercises to do by yourself or with a friend
  • exercise sessions with one of our qualified staff
  • outdoor one to one sessions - these can include company for a walk, to sporting activities or assistance with regaining your confidence outside.

We are not here to try to sell every product we offer. Rather we are here to provide specific, relevant and tailored advice and information for you to make an informed decision on how to improve your health and fitness.

We have met few people we are unable to assist in some way to improve their physical and mental welfare and thus their quality of life.
